The Wolf Pack Takes On Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2022

This past weekend, a group of hardy Wolves made the journey from the North-East to Skipton, Yorkshire to take part in the Tough Mudder 10K.

As an event, Tough Mudder does what it says on the tin: a series of 20 gruelling obstacles lie between the start line and the victorious finish, designed to test mental and physical strength, agility, and teamwork.

It all began with Dean from our Purchasing Team, who jokingly suggested taking on the challenge. A few other office colleagues overheard, invitation emails were sent, sign-ups made – and the rest, as they say, is history.

We pride ourselves on working as a pack, and our runners did just that. A total of 11 colleagues took part in the event, motivating each other around the course and supporting each other through the hair-raising obstacles including Mud Mile, Cage Crawl, Everest, and Electroshock Therapy. They started the race together, navigated each obstacle together, and crossed the finish line together.

Dean Sawyer, instigator of Team Tough Mudder, said:

“What started out as a bit of joke actually turned into what was probably the best team building event any of us have ever done. We motivated each other and put our trust in each other to get through the obstacles: some people were afraid of heights, some of water; but with everybody encouraging and supporting each other we got to the finish line having laughed the whole way around. The guys are already looking forward to doing it all again next year and we hope to encourage some more of the pack to join us!”

The Wolf Pack demonstrated true teamwork as they took on this not insignificant challenge.
