Metal Fabrication for Transport Sector

The transport sector is undergoing a period of intense change. With the journey towards net zero a main priority for those operating in the sector, innovation is key.

In its ‘UK Transport Vision 2050’ report, Innovate UK highlighted three focus areas for the UK transport industry:

  • scaling-up manufacturing to deliver net zero products
  • digitally enabling the sector to deliver greater efficiency, and new products and services
  • ensuring the sector is resilient and responsive with continuous, safe and secure operation

Demand for sheet metal fabrication will play a key role as innovative designs and developments in the sector move from concept, to prototype, and scaled roll-out and manufacture.

Getting your product on the road

We work both with companies which have an established product, and those who are bringing a new innovation to the market. Each of these profiles will require a different kind of support from their supply chain partners, for example:

  • Companies with a new-to-market product would benefit from our New Product Introduction service. Our team of skilled engineers and sheet metal workers collaborate with the customer’s internal teams to:
    • understand requirements and specifications
    • review drawings and equipment for optimised manufacture
    • design jigs and fixtures
    • write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • ensure the product is ready to enter repeatable, scaled manufacture
  • Companies whose product is established in the market may benefit from a DFM (Design for Manufacturing) review. When onboarding a new product, this is an excellent opportunity to ensure the product design is as effective and efficient as it can be. We can review and advise on tolerances, materials, and standards.

Our goal when working with customers in the Transport sector is always to understand, optimise, and get to market as quickly as possible, to ensure your business is generating return as quickly as possible.

We’re certified to ISO:9001 and EN3834-2, with the production and quality processes in place to deliver high-quality, precise and accurate metal fabrication for our customers.
